One of the most important subplots in “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony,” is the one of nine artifacts.

The artifacts are first mentioned by Captain Jet Mir Thakur. He resorts to a smart trick, to convince her to sign a contract with him, and bring him the precious objects that he’s seeking.

Jet Mir needs artifacts to open one of the seventeen guardian plates described in the Universal Legend. Each guardian plate found is said to give power to “change everything,” “shake people’s spirits” and create “brand new worlds.” Several merpeople believe, it will also give power to “change history.” This doesn’t mean ability to go back in time, though, but rather making an ancient discovery which will affect the present moment.

The artifacts are mostly decorative objects with shells and pearls. It looks like they’re are used to active some mechanism on the guardian plate, which will later open it and reveal treasure.

Below, you can find the table with all countries and information about artifacts.

Technically speaking, Amelia’s mission failed, because, she only managed to get one artifact, and the other two were freely given to Jet Mir. Meanwhile, Lumina Mond stole six other artifacts, and later, also the ones collected with such effort from Jet Mir.

When Jet Mir met her, he was very upset, and didn’t even try to hide it. Edith and Kamadia laughed at his anger, but Amelia reminded Lumina that karma goes around. Lumina said she would return them to owners and write apology letters. Edith expressed the wish to paint all artifacts on postcards for her friends, as she’s an artist.

The artifacts (and other ways) led protagonists to the Mausoleum of Lost Symphonies, where they could listen to the forgotten Fiery Symphonies.
