Special dates: be it birthday parties, Christmas, Valentine’s Day or others, are great opportunities to give a gift to someone you love – or better yet, a gift basket! There are as many ways to decorate a gift basket as there are people!

One of the best is to use a wicker basket and adorn it with a couple of brooches in the shape of oysters, shells or corals on the sides. Do be afraid to add green or blue ribbons to make it more aesthetic. I recommend not to use too many, though, so as not to overload it.

You can cover the content of the gift basket with a large, square shawl: bright green or turquoise. These are good colors and will hide the inside of your basket from the person who is going to receive it, keeping the surprise about the gift’s contents until the very last moment!

You can place a pair of glass and turquoise bracelets or beaded necklaces like the ones we learned how to make before. Or, a dream catcher, if your gift recipient is interested in lucid dreams. Another idea would be a corked bottle with a message inside – it can be a personal letter, or the one Mermaid Lumina wrote to Her Limpidity Tikalie. Captain Jet Mir’s contract is also an option! You can find these items under the 2021 Advent Printables.

Other gifts would be a glass jar with seashells and scented candles. If you add a scrapbook it would be the perfect gift. Don’t forget about adding some sweets! Jelly candies shaped like dolphins, sharks or fish will fit perfectly.

As a final note, don’t forget that there are never strict rules: you can place just anything in your mermaid basket, even DIY cosmetics, and give it to anyone you like, whenever you like. The gift recipient will surely love it!
