If your passion for mermaids goes way beyond being a fan of “Mermaid Princess Amelia,” and you want to dive right into the role of an underwater kingdom’s princess, I can tell that there’s no stopping you!
Making a tail is simpler than it may originally seem, and you can create your own one with the help of some swimming pool fins, elastic material, and several sewing supplies – although it remains a fact that creating a perfect, long-lasting tail takes much more effort. If DIY really isn’t your thing, consider buying your tail online.
Two notable suppliers are Merbella Studios and FinfolkProductions.
FinfolkProductions owes its name to a race of shapeshifters and sea wizards from the folklore of the Orkney Islands in Scotland. Besides mermaid tails, they make offer a wide variety of mermaid-related products: mermaid bras and tops, shorts, leggings, bags, even shell-shaped combs!
Merbella Studios focuses specifically on mermaid tails. Founded by the married team of Raven and Tyler Sutter, the studio makes spectacular silicone tails used throughout the world appearing in music videos, movies and TV series. Each one of these tails has a unique and unrepeatable design. Raven made her fist design at the age of eight, and she’s also a professional mermaid swimming in an aquarium.
Although getting a mermaid tail could seem like the craziest fancy, it can help open a new profession for you: you can become an aquarium mermaid, a swimming pool entertainer, or an undersea photography model. Think about it – if you love mermaids, this could be a perfect career for you!
