Ultimate guide to perfect mermaid hair with inspirations from Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony
Hi, sweet starfishes! Today, we will discuss different mermaid hair inspirations. I got this idea because one of the most striking features of “Mermaid Princess Amelia” characters is their hair, which is as colorful as the fish and corals living in the sea.
There are actually many ways to dye your hair like a mermaid. First, you must choose a dye suitable for your hair and tone. Prepare your hair a few days before, using a good shampoo or a natural moisturizing mask, but don’t wash it the day of dyeing, because its natural oil will help to fix the color – it’s what all hairdressers will tell you.
On to the hair dyes. If you want to be subtle, you can opt for a ruby tone, ideal for dark hair. It will look normal at first glance, but people will notice that there is something different. Just like Amelia did, as she first looked at Taisuke. Exactly – dark hair with a reddish glow is typical for merpeople from Seto Inland Sea in Japan, a colony of Sambath. This hair color is a must-have if you have a crush on Taisuke.
This same style is suitable if you are hoping to emulate the look of mermaids from Nerland, such as our favorite phantom thief Lumina. Just use a sapphire tone instead of the ruby one. And last but not least, using an emerald tone can simply make you look like Greene from East China Sea.
If dyeing it all over doesn’t suit you, or feels too simple, you can opt for coloring single strands. The most obvious example will be Amelia’s: as you remember, she’s got a dark green hair base with bright highlights. It’s a fresh, energetic style, full of personality and strength which will instantly point to the fact that you’re a fan of the novel. If you choose it, remember to post pictures online and tag them as #AntemidianHairChallenge, this way, you can share your hairstyle with other fans!
If cold colors really aren’t your jam, Araminta Aragosta has a hairstyle design you might like. Her hair is naturally grapefruit colored, but she dyed several strands black, so as to fit in among Antemidians. If your hair is dark and you’ve always wanted to experiment with pink dye, give it a try!
What about naturally light hair? You may ask me. If you’re a blonde, just get a strong suntan, and you’ll become a perfect Davika Thani! If your hair’s too thin to compete with her volume, backcomb it.
Another great idea for mermaid hair based off naturally light hair, is to dye it with a pastel blue shade, to look like Lara Lanorth. But talk to your hairdresser first, for your natural hair color will need to be taken off before you try to dye it blue. You don’t want to end up with pale green on your head instead! Although if it happens, don’t despair, it still gives you an Antemidian look.
And last but not least, if being the life of the party is your thing, and if you like to shock people with your hair, we recommend you dye it like Poseyda Eos. Her base is a cheerful lemon, with purple highlights adding shade and contrast. This hair will surely attract attention.
