Owning an aquarium is exciting, but at the same time, it is a great responsibility. Fish, shrimp, turtles, crabs, and other animals that inhabit it are living beings and, therefore, they require care. If you do not have the time, energy or means to take care of an aquarium, you can always choose to have your own artificial aquarium, with plastic plants and toy fish.
Artificial aquariums aren’t anything new. The first of this kind on record dates back to 1841 (!). It was created by researcher Nataniel Bagshaw, who created a tank with aquatic plants and toy fish to keep him company during his research on longevity of fish and aquarium plants.
Artificial aquariums have countless advantages.
In an aquarium with living beings, you have to pay attention to countless small details, like the level of salinity and the PH of the water; as well as the temperature and quality of light that it receives – not to mention feeding fish, changing water, cleaning the tank, etc. Meanwhile, an artificial aquarium is much easier to set up, and it requires way less energy for maintenance.
Also, sometimes, it may be impossible to truly make your aquarium look the way you’d like, for you can’t put tropical saltwater fish in the same water as the river fish. But in an artificial aquarium, you can put plastic fish, and all kinds of décor – the only limit is your imagination.
Want an aquarium with robots? Why not! A submarine? Bring it on! Better yet, why not a mermaid doll sitting on the bottom of the tank and waving to the people passing? For this type of aquarium, imagination is the only limit! You can try to recreate one of mermaid kingdoms described in “Mermaid Princess Amelia,” too, by placing décor in the right style and color.
And the artificial aquarium can be placed just anywhere, and brighten up even the dullest days!
