Ariel from Disney’s Little Mermaid: Ariel, the youngest daughter of King Triton of Atlantis is an iconic character thanks to her innocent smile and trademark red hair. She is cheerful, emotional and with a big heart, willing to support anyone who needs it. She is also curious, imaginative and a fierce adventurous spirit that isn’t afraid to venture into the outside world. Perhaps a little reckless and naive at times, she’s one of everyone’s favorites and we’re pretty sure, no millennial grew up without hearing about her!

Rikki from H2O Just Add Water: Rikki is the “bad girl” of her group of friends, Cleo and Emma. Human for most of her life, she changed forever after a full night on the mysterious Mako Island. Since then, she will turn into a mermaid ten seconds after getting her skin wet. As a character, Rikki is rebellious, sarcastic, independent and somewhat temperamental, which makes it obvious that her superpowers are about lighting fires and heating water. Although impulsive, Rikki is more sensitive than meets the eye. It only takes a little time getting to know her to find that out.

Nixie from Mako Mermaids: Nixie – along with her friends Lyla and Sirena – is one of the mermaids that inhabit the mysterious Mako Island. Her life changes after a human named Zac Blakely ends up becoming a triton…  Nixie is cheerful and sociable, although her carefree attitude makes her childish and reckless at times. She is very curious and there is nothing awakening her curiosity like humans and their world do. She always observes them with attention from the beaches of the island.

Aquamarine from Aquamarine (2006): Aquamarine is a mermaid princess, the daughter of the Cold Sea king. She has an enthusiastic, dreamy, romantic and brave personality. Despite growing up and living in a culture which doesn’t believe in love, Aquamarine is not only able to listen to her heart and have her own opinion on the matter, but also has the courage to leave home and live by her values and beliefs.

Amelia from Mermaid Princess Amelia: Amelia Quintana is one of the most beloved mermaids among teenage girls, her popularity keeps growing so rapidly that soon we will be able to call her a “viral mermaid.” She’s the elective princess of Antemidia, an ancient, splendid, Mesoamerican mermaid country, who’s given the mission to find nine long-lost artifacts that will lead her to a sea mystery. You can learn more about her in here.
