Mermaid Princess Amelia – Best Mermaid Book Series For Teenagers

The Southern Baltic is one of mermaid kingdoms located in the Baltic Sea, which hosts several other counties, such as Nerland or Hailand.

The Southern Baltic is ruled by the Zielińscy royal family. This family is quite conservative, and focused mostly on the needs of the elderly part of the society. Because of it, the younger parts migrated to other countries. Overtime, the country was hit by a demographical crisis and became depopulated. When the older princess, Sawa Zielińska, was crowned, few people were left, and after a year, there wasn’t anybody anymore. Despite her best attempts to reverse migration, nothing could be done. Over time, Sawa and her younger sister Mewa, both migrated. Now, nobody’s living in the Southern Baltic, and it looks like, the country might be attacked and conquered by its closest neighbor, Nerland, in the future.

It seems that the language spoken in the Southern Baltic, is Polish. The legendary Polish mermaid whose statue decorates Warsaw’s most popular market square, is named Sawa. Also, “Mewa” means “seagull” in Polish.

One of Sawa’s possessions, is a silver ring with amber eye. The Baltic Sea is famous for its amber, which is considered to be one of the finest and also the only one that has healing effects. It’s also interesting to know that the Southern Baltic has cold and generally unsalty waters, and that the mermaids from that region have tails that resemble the herring.
