Mermaid Princess Amelia – Best Mermaid Book Series For Teenagers

Amelia Quintana’s potential love interests in “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony” by Maxine Foti

Even though “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony” is not a romance novel, we can identify three potential love interests for Amelia Quintana, the protagonist of the whole saga. Those are Jet Mir, Taisuke, and Tony.

Jet Mir is the first to come to mind as her love interest, because, he’s the very first person she meets after having lost everything – they meet at a bar on the coast of Puerto Rico where Amelia found herself after the destruction that happened in her kingdom. Amelia describes Jet Mir as a man with pale skin, amber green eyes, and long peach colored hair. His tail is a royal orange shade, and his caudal fin resembled a lotus flower; it was divided into many petals.

She quickly learned that he was from the honey earth in the Laccadive Sea. He was on a mission to collect all the artifacts and unlock the secrets of the guardian plate. After tricking Amelia to come to his submarine, he promised that he would rescue her friend Samantha in exchange for her compliance. He succeeded and Amelia became his ally, but that cost him her trust and friendship. She became wary of him, and their relationship didn’t improve until later on, in the story, when they shared more interactions.

When Amelia learns though, that Jet Mir is in love with Edith Dvali, she feels positive about it. It looks like she doesn’t really have romantic feelings for him, despite the fact, she does consider him important.

Amelia’s second potential love interest, is Taisuke, her karate partner. He is an Asian boy with beautiful, thunderstorm-gray eyes .He has black spiky hair that has an unnatural, crimson glow. Amelia met him at the karate dojo in Vale de Santa Ana, but they didn’t instantly become friends. Amelia is overly formal, while Taisuke, is a very reserved and private person. He has been living in Portugal for many years.

It looks like Amelia has a crush on him, which she however denies, when her new gossip friend Lara asks about it. The crush, though, is quite apparent in Amelia’s behavior: she constantly blushed around him, and she’s unable to form coherent sentences, when around him. The more she tries to act cool, the more uncomfortable and awkward the whole situation gets.

By saving Taisuke’s brother from drowning, Amelia definitely scored some points. Taisuke told her later, “You must look beautiful as a mermaid” and confided in her, sharing information about his mysterious ancestry. Hopefully, more information about this will be revealed in book two of the saga. Fans are also hoping to see Amelia admit her crush on the handsome triton and kiss him.

But there’s one more person in the picture, that we can’t omit, when talking about her love interests – Tony, her best friend since she moved into the palace. He’s an Antemidian, characterized by bright smile, black quiff hair, broad arms, and celadon tail with transparent fins jagged at their ends. Amelia describes him as a modest and friendly person that enjoys travelling around the world. He would always tell Amelia interesting stories about his travels and bring souvenirs for her.

He works for Alissa, the court stylist and is responsible for importing rare materials and precious jewelry, which the fashionista uses in her newest projects.

Tony  and is a valuable employee in the court. Despite the obvious differences in their status, Amelia still genuinely sees him as her equal and a friend she can always count on.

Tony also genuinely his friendship with Amelia, and doesn’t take it for granted.

Amelia enjoys his presence and mentions, she often feels that the sad and difficult things fade away in his presence.

In “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony,” it looks like their relationship is based on pure friendship. However, Tony could become her runner up love interest in the saga.
