Nubemtekh Khaled is a character from Mermaid Princess Amelia fantasy series by Maxine Foti. She made her first appearance in the “Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia.”
Nubemtekh Khaled is an adult mermaid from the Lotus State. Her looks were not described but like most merpeople from the Lotus State, she probably has pale skin (due to her ancestors living in the caves, away from sun), black hair with a bluish sheen, obsidian eyes and a blue mermaid tail.
Nubemtekh is the mother of Nubia and Nubhotep Khaled, and the wife of Mr. Khaled. She was the highest priestess of the Lotus Temple, before her daughter, Nubia, took that role. However, Nubemtekh will likely return to be the highest priestess herself, as Nubia chose Seth, as her patron, and is now meant to work at his temple.
Nubemtekh was in love and engaged, but her fiancé left her at the last moment. As a result, she married Amun Khaled (Mr. Khaled), with whom she had two children: Nubhotep and Nubia. The marriage seems successful but Nubemtekh and Mr. Khaled keep living separately. He works in a museum in Cairo and travelling with the exhibits around Europe, and she lives in the capital of the Lotus State in the Nile River, Nakht-Ankh.
Nubemtekh often visists her sister living in a small underwater town at the height of Luxor.
