Demian Khvylya is a character from Mermaid Princess Amelia fantasy series by Maxine Foti. He made his first appearance in the “Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia.”
Demian Khvylya is an adult merman from the Hospitable Sea. But, like Grisha Cherepashka, he was born in the Sea of Azov, not in the Black Sea.
Demian was described as a tall and slender man with long, blond hair that he kept in a low ponytail. He was seen wearing a black bonnet, and a black tunic with an apron (to avoid getting it dirty with paint). It wasn’t written what color his eyes were but he had elliptical glasses. His merman tail has a shiny black color covered with a golden net, like the sailfin pleco.
Naturally gifted for both the arts and teaching, Demian was both a court painter and an art professor at the Black Pillars’ Academy in the Most Hospitable City. Friendly, patient, motivating, and also a bit crazy like any good artist, he was liked equally by both his students, Edith Dvali and Ehsan Kaspian.
Demian has also traveled a lot. He knows the Sea of Azov, the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Mediterranean Sea, and even the Caspian Sea, where he studied art.
