Ustinya Arenas is a character from Mermaid Princess Amelia fantasy series by Maxine Foti. She made her first appearance in “Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia.”
Ustinya Arenas is an Antemidian mermaid who served the country as an elective princess before Tikalie Uxmal (and Amelia Quintana).
Ustinya was described as a distracted, forgetful and rather lazy mermaid. She had trouble taking care of her duties, and as a result, after turning twenty-five years old, she was declined a place in the Council of Generals.
After she left, Natalie Uxmal personally suggested to General Asvald Altamira to make her daughter the new princess. General Asvald took that suggestion and chose Tikalie Uxmal.
Little is known about Ustinya, and her relationships with the merpeople from Antemidian Court. For sure, General Aalona Morales hated the princess, as she called her a “dumb sponge” in one of her conversations with Tikalie. However, General Aalona is hardly pleased with anybody, and even Tikalie (who was considered a young prodigy) had trouble meeting her expectations.
