While waiting for the second novel in the “Mermaid Princess Amelia” fantasy series, I was looking for some games with mermaid themes, and came across the “Mermaid Love Story Game.”
I am so happy I found this that I had to write an article about it! It’s been a while since I’ve played a game that captivated me as much as this one did. I have been playing it for the last few hours and I’m hooked! The artwork looks really nice, and the story is more captivating than you’d imagine, each chapter ending with a small cliffhanger.
It has a great mix of fantasy, romance and drama, and, I love that you can date either a human or a merman. I liked Theo and Gabriel both, but it was hard to choose between them. I went with Theo in the end because he was also a merman, but Gabriel is a close second.
Interestingly, by choosing between the two of them, you also have to decide if you want to dedicate yourself more to your life on land, or in the water. This can lead to different situations and different outcomes, so, the game has a big replay value. Especially that, you get to choose what’s your character’s name and look, and of course, how they act, whether they’re kind and honest, or mean.
Overall, I really recommend this game to teenage girls who like playing visual novels and are looking for something with mermaids.
