Mu / Lemuria – A Mermaid Kingdom From Mermaid Princess Amelia Fantasy Novel Series by Maxine Foti

Mu was originally believed to be yet another Atlantis, only located on the Pacific Ocean. The name “Lemuria” was coined by Augustus Le Plongeon, and later turned into “Lemuria” by James Churchward.

Mu, just like Atlantis, was said to be swept away by a terrible earthquake. However, there is no geological evidence of it. Interestingly though, legends related to this mythical lost continent, are truly impressive.

The continent was believed to have given cultural fundaments to several great ancient civilizations, among them those of Greece, Egypt, India, and Burma. It was also related to Yucatan and the Mayas.

When Amelia narrates the history of the mermaids’ world, she states that in the beginning, there were only two mermaid countries: Mu and Sambath. According to her, Mu was in the Pacific, North Atlantic and the Arctic, which means, it was a large empire covering a vast part of the globe. Over time, Mu and Sambath began losing power, as new countries began to form, and those giant countries ceased to exist, leaving behind colonies.

Amelia meets someone from Sambath, but nobody from Mu, which makes it look like that ancestry, is even more rare and uncommon.

Hopefully, we can learn more about Mu from other novels by Maxine Foti.
