Amida is the seventh of Amelia’s twelve ladies in waiting. Amelia doesn’t really like her, and the feeling seems mutual, as they never became friends.
Amida’s task is to compose songs – the ones for humming and the ones with which Amelia would open the coastal season (three weeks during which our most famous vocalists, together with the Antemidian choir, lured sailors near the rocks and made their ships crash so as to loot them).
Amida is a pretty mermaid, with wavy golden hair spilling from an elegant bun on the top of her head. She typically dresses in dark green, and likes wearing beads. Her aquamarine tail is bright green with silver decorations.
During the earthquake, Amida is the one passing news to Amelia. She persuades Amelia to hide in the doorframe, but Amelia searches for an escape route, anyways. Later, Amelia thinks that Amida died and blames herself, for not having helped.
But Amida survived, which is a relief for Amelia.
Amida attends the ball held in Amelia’s name, and mostly hangs out with Utau. When she sees Amelia with Tony, she comments about the two being in love with each other, but being in denial. She communicates non-verbally that she finds Amelia childish, but Amelia doesn’t care.
