Lake Morskie Oko is a real lake located in the Tatra Mountains in Poland. Despite being one of the most popular tourist destinations in that country, it still looks very pristine.
Maxine Foti and her husband visited this lake during their trip to Poland in summer 2019. The trip served as an inspiration to include this lake in the story collection.
The lake was inhabited by Eligia Mroz, and her family members: mother Zyta Mroz, father Zygfryd Mroz, and older brother Faustyn Mroz.
