Mariam Marzani is a character from Mermaid Princess Amelia fantasy series by Maxine Foti. She made her first appearance in “Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia.”
Mariam Marzani is a young mermaid from the Hospitable Sea. She has long dark hair that she usually wears in elegant braids, bright skin, and clear eyes like the summer sea. Her mermaid tail is probably black. She enjoys wearing dark red and golden jewelry.
As a members of the most important families of Most Hospitable City, Mariam and Edith grew up together, forming a powerful friendship bond. But while Edith spent her early years in the palace, from primary school, Mariam studied in the coastal city of Batumi, Georgia.
Mariam loves being active and searching for the next exciting adventure to embark on. Acting, swimming in her human form, travelling and hitchhiking are all her hobbies. However, she’s also able to relax when necessary and has a great sense of aesthetics and elegance. She enjoys collecting scented things, such as perfume bottles and tea boxes. She also has a canary named Pasha.
Mariam was described as a sensitive yet balanced girl, one that could be both serious and funny, depending on what the situation called for. She could lend a listening ear to Edith, when she struggled, and she could also make her laugh.
Edith cared deeply about Mariam, to the point that she wanted the two of them to be roommates on land. However, she also felt somewhat envious of the girl’s bright personality. Edith really wanted to be cheerful and carefree like her, but couldn’t, as she suffered horrible abuse from hands of her family.
Mariam’s surname means “small corals” or “pebbles” in Georgian.
