Jaya Mia Madhu-Thakur is a character from Mermaid Princess Amelia fantasy series by Maxine Foti. She made her first appearance in “Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia.”
Jaya Mia Madhu-Thakur is the first out of two mermaid queens of Honey Earth. She is the daughter of Jayant Mir Madhu, the sister of Shri Mir Madhu (with whom she rules the Honey Earth), and the mother of Jet Mir Thakur.
Jaya Mia was described as a beautiful mermaid with Titian red hair and a golden tail with a lotus-shaped caudal fin, who wore multi-colored, ethereal-looking, silky sarees.
Jaya Mia is very friends with her brother’s first wife (and the second queen of Honey Earth), Lohita Mia Madhu. Jaya Mia’s son, Jet Mir Thakur, and Lohita Mia’s daughter, Lipika Mia Madhu, were supposed to rule over the Honey Earth. However, Jaya Mia’s brother and Jet Mir’s uncle, Shri Mir Madhu, suddenly fell in love with his harem mistress (Shanaya Khanda), and as result, he broke his marriage to Lohita Mia.
As a result, Jaya Mia and Shri Mir entered a conflict because, Shri Mir Madhu wanted both of his and Shanaya’s children to get over the throne (Sha Mir Madhu, Shafia Mia Madhu). He got easily rid of his previous wife, Lohita Mia, and his first daughter, Lipika Mia, but with Jet Mir, the matter was more complicated.
After the massacre of Mrigatrishna City, Jet Mir was supposed to receive a death penalty, but his mother, Jaya Mia, managed to save his life, and get him exiled.
She helped him get over his grandfather’s submarine, and gave him a letter meant for her closest friend, Queen Larimara Lanorth from the Bermuda Triangle.
Jet Mir sailed there after his exile. Later, Jaya Mia also sent there Kashvi Chari, Meghna Hariharan, Namya Iengar and Darsha Vandayar. The four mermaids became part of Jet Mir’s temporary submarine crew.
