5 Best Mermaid Romance Novels for Tweens and Teens

#5: IN DEEPER WATERS by F T Lukens

“In deeper waters” by F T Lukens is a love story written from the male character’s point of view. Having spent most of his life inside the palace, and hiding his forbidden magic from everyone else, Prince Tal, looks forward to his coming of age and finally getting to know his family’s sea kingdom. Two days into his journey at sea, Tal meets Athlen – a prisoner that his crew finds trapped on a burning ship in the middle of the sea. Tal feels an inexplicable connection to Athlen, who however disappears shortly thereafter, by jumping into the sea. Tal doesn’t think that he can ever see Athlen again, but two days later, the two miraculously reunite on land. Unfortunately, just a couple days later, Tal gets kidnapped by Pirates, and Athlen becomes his only hope for rescue…

#4: AGELESS SEA by M. R. Polish

Fate seemed to have brought Brady and his plane to the isolated island where Karis had been banished to live alone. Karis sifted through the wreckage, sure that no one could have survived – but there he was, breathing barely, laying in a corner of the ship. Their connection starts slowly and blossoms into something wonderful. With highly developed love shared by the two principal characters, one can say that the writer has put together a tale that will surely captivate the hearts of the readers. They pay attention to other types of supernatural worlds, too, which adds to the essence of the book, making it a very recommended read, one similar to the story of the Nymph Calypso of Greek mythology.

#3: FORGIVE MY FINS by Tera Lynn Childs

“Forgive my fins” by Tera Lynn Childs is a wonderful mermaid book for teens. It describes the life of seventeen-year-old Lily Sanderson, a girl with many secrets. She’s been in love with handsome swimmer Brody Bennett for a while now; and she’s also a mermaid princess of the sea kingdom of Thalassinia. With a human mother and a merman father, Lily must get a partner before her eighteenth birthday and (as if her unrequited crush and adjusting to life on land weren’t enough!) things get complicated, as her obnoxious biker neighbor Quince Fletcher starts getting more and more annoying…

#2: EMERGE (MER CHRONICLES) by Tobie Easton

“Emerge (Mer Chronicles)” by Tobie Easton is a romantic mermaid novel filled with mystery and magic. It talks about the love troubles of Lia Nautilus, a mermaid staying on land that has spent her entire life in Malibu. Lia has always been attracted to the handsome, confident, and somewhat arrogant Clay Ericson, but can’t get close to him. When he begins dating a mysterious girl, Lia finds herself unable to remain indifferent…

#1: MERMAID PRINCESS AMELIA AND THE LOST SYMPHONY by Maxine Foti

“MERMAID PRINCESS AMELIA AND THE LOST SYMPHONY” is an incredible adventure novel with a bit of romance that’s great for young girls who are only making their first foray into the reality of liking someone.

After the undersea kingdom of Antemidia is shaken by a violent earthquake and lost at sea, Mermaid Princess Amelia Quintana finds herself stranded on the beach somewhere in the Caribbean Sea.

Worried sick about her best friend that might have died, she confides into the first person she meets: Captain Jet Mir Thakur, who turns out to be an exiled prince from another undersea kingdom, one located by the shores of southern India. Jet Mir agrees to rescue Amelia’s friend, but under the condition she’ll help him, too.

This begins her incredible journey in search of ancient relics, which begins in Santa Ana – a small coastal town in Portugal, that becomes her “safe base.” In there, Amelia makes new friends, and needs to face her conflicted romantic feelings.

On one hand, she’s attracted to Taisuke, her partner from martial arts class (that she takes to improve her combat abilities). On another, she misses her best friend Tony from back home. Whom will she choose?

“Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony” is a mermaid book that has the right dose of everything: adventure, travel, sea mystery, magic, friendship, school life, romance… All the right stuff.

To that, it’s worth mentioning that no other mermaid novel released by an independent publishing house has so much  fanfiction available online, as “Mermaid Princess Amelia…” (you can check it out here, if you’re interested). The novel has a huge character cast and readers love pairing different characters together.
