Who doesn’t love pearls? They are incredible little gifts that oysters produce and keep close, gifts that only those daring and skilled enough can find.
It takes a very long time for an oyster to form a pearl, hence how valuable they are. If you checked pearl prices online, you may have been surprised with how expensive they are.
Still, we can build an equally beautiful and elegant pearl ornament, even if we can’t afford a real pearl.

The first step is to get a clean shell (preferably an oyster one, but others will do too), and to buy a pearly bead, large enough to stand out on it. Remember that the idea of perfectly round and white pearl is a stereotype, as there are beads of every possible shape and color. Oval, greenish, dark…
As you’re choosing the bead, pay attention to the size of the hole in it. If the hole’s too big, you will have to find a way to fill it out. An option is filling it with superglue and painting your bead with pearly paint again, so as to cover the mark.

Then, with a bit of superglue, glue the bead in the middle of the shell and, with the help of a makeup brush, sprinkle a bit of glitter on the artifact. Voila! You’re done.
If you want, the arrangement doesn’t have to end there. With due care you can build a small gravel bottom inside the shell to support the bead, carefully gluing all the pieces together. Y ou can also place your shell treasure in a mason jar filled with sand, or shells.
