Occupation: Chief General of the Council of Generals ruling Antemidia, and in fact, the true ruler of this country.

Looks as merman: General Asvald isn’t described anywhere. However, judging from official artwork, he’s a graying triton with pale celadon tail and tanned skin.

Personality: General Asvald is an outstanding strategist and military figure. He is very wise, experienced, and has an analytical mind that helps him think easily of the next step that has to be taken. Although he might seem a little formal, even stern, he’s a good and empathetic person, aware of other people’s feelings and needs. He’s ready to compromise and even take risks to honor wishes of those around him. He’s a trustworthy and just person, one who won’t allow any power abuse at the court.

Trivia:

• General Asvald chose Amelia to be the princess for unknown reasons. He never told her and as she tried to ask, he just said that she would “do fine.” Amelia lacked confidence but tried to believe in it.
• General Asvald was the one who asked Princess Samantha Santoro to hide her identity, change looks, and adopt the name “Araminta.” Samantha couldn’t officially remain in court, after Tikalie had died.
• When Amelia went missing, General Asvald told Tony not to catastrophize, but it didn’t help, Tony was very preoccupied anyways.
• General Asvald doesn’t judge Amelia for teaming up with Jet Mir. He tells his colleague General Aalona: “You can’t expect a teenager to behave like an adult in such situations. She did the best she could!” Overall, General Asvald seems to protect Amelia from General Aalona’s bullying quite often.
• General Asvald’s favorite treat are oysters with pasta and garlic. He also drinks alcohol from a pocket flask.
• General Asvald respects Amelia’s personal requests and also friendships.
• Amelia learns from her sister Lumina Mond, General Asvald was the one who had staged death of Tikalie Uxmal. Apparently, he had taken pity over Tikalie’s personal unhappiness and depression and created a master plan to help her become free.
