5 Most Heartwarming Scenes in “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony” by Maxine Foti

“Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony” is a fantasy novel with many heartwarming scenes, for example when Amelia signed the contract to help rescue her best friend, Araminta.
#1 – Amelia saves Araminta
Amelia, who was a very lonely person without family, couldn’t bear the thought of having to live without her closest confidante, and she ensured to do everything in her power to rescue her. Despite the odds being against her, Amelia courageously signed the papers, even though she hated the thought of lying and stealing.
But Amelia isn’t the only character in the book, who takes friendship seriously. Another one, is Edith a warm, generous and kind-hearted young girl.
#2 – Edith forgives Amelia
Since the first scene, Edith presented herself as friendly and approachable, a person who prioritizes other people’s feelings, sometimes even above her own. She’s a highly empathetic character who shows utmost compassion on people, always willing to understand what her friends are going through, even when they hurt her in some way.
After Edith discovered that Amelia lied, she felt hurt, but still took the conscious, deliberate decision to give her a chance to explain, and later forgave her. Edith regarded Amelia as her friend, and no matter what, she believed that friendships should always win.
#3 – Amelia meets her father Adavan
Another wonderful scene that melted readers’ hearts was when Amelia met her father, Adavan Vega, in the Mausoleum. After several years of searching for her family with no success, Amelia came to the conclusion that her adoptive aunt was the only one, who cared. Meanwhile, her true father had been locked up in the Mausoleum for several years and had always asked himself, what happened to his daughter. He hoped to reunite with her too, and when it finally happened, we all shed a tear. Amelia knew they could never make up for the years spent apart, but hoped that their future would be better.
#4 – Amelia saves Hansuke
Another scene which struck the chords of readers’ hearts, Amelia asked Hansuke to be more kind to his brother, Taisuke. This simple act showed that she cared about others, more than about herself. After revealing her identity as a mermaid in order to save Hansuke’s life, Hansuke offered to reward her, but all she asked for, was that he’s more kind to his brother. Having gone through the pain of being despised by her sister, Amelia understood what it must have felt like for Taisuke, to be hated by Hansuke, his very twin brother. Amelia did not want that painful feeling for anyone. Later, Taisuke thanked her, offering help in an important task.
#5 – Davika tried to protect everyone
Last but not least, we can’t forget about the scene in which it was revealed that (watch out, heavy spoilers ahead!!!) Davika knew everything all along, only kept silent, to protect her friends from danger. Her aunt, Kamon Thani, died in the Mausoleum of Lost Symphonies, and Davika feared that the same fate would befall her friends, so she put her good name on the line and acted like a bad person, trying to sabotage Amelia, Lumina and Jet Mir. At first, she seemed to appear as a bad, annoying character, but in reality, she was both smart and good.
