Lipika Mia Madhu
Lipika Mia is a mermaid princess from the Honey Earth, a kingdom nestled among amber‑coloured coral reefs and renowned for its heavily adorned temples and magnificent palaces. She is the daughter of the great maharaja Shri Mir Madhu and his wife, Queen Lohita Mia, making her a first cousin to Prince Jet Mir. No physical description of her is given in the story, but she is clearly Jet Mir’s favourite relative – he calls her his “favourite cousin” and is devastated when he learns that she and her mother are being forced to leave the palace. Her fall from grace comes when her parents’ marriage is annulled; as a consequence, she loses the honorific “Mia” and is no longer considered a rightful heir to the throne. Together with her mother, she is exiled to the Ninad Kingdom, an ancient colony of Mu known for its simple, large architecture built from light blue monoliths. Her departure marks a deep personal loss for Jet Mir, who overhears the news while eavesdropping on his mother’s conversation.
