When you think about mermaids and mysticism, your mind naturally wanders to crystals and how their uneven forms reflect light so wonderfully.

Aside from its practical usage, the massive increase in quartz consciousness is due not only to its natural beauty, but also to the metaphysical properties that may be attributed to it such as spiritual growth. For example, rose quartz is used to heal broken hearts while citrine is typically used to promote success in one’s endeavors. Its color is astounding like amethyst highlights different hues of violet. The citrine is yellowish to rust hue with its bottom half still white due to ferric impurities.
So, what is Mermaid Quartz?
An unusual type of quartz is called the “Mermaid Quartz”, which highlights the mermaid’s signature color that we associate with them: the iconic purple and deep blue with a gradient effect adding magic to it.
It is a beautiful ethereal crystal known for its wonderful reflecting look. With a silvery iridescent appearance, this stone appears to contain all of the hues of the rainbow, making it a representation of the undersea realm. This type of quartz is achieved by treating it with heat, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and a platinum or silver layer.
The Mermaid quartz is believed to have healing properties such as elevating spiritual levels and reducing depression. As mermaids are associated with magic and some sense of escapism— a fairytale we cling unto when things get hand, this quartz promotes creativity and relaxation.
