I’m proud to announce that the next novel to be published in the fantasy series about Mermaid Princess Amelia, is a story collection!
Yes, I know – what happened to the sequel, “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Destiny’s Theater”? And to the novel about Cassidy and other Chicago Mermaids?
To give you a quick update – I’m working on both, but decided to slow down a little bit, to give you more content related to “…The Lost Symphony” first, such as this collection, and the next one.
Yes – there will be more collections! And more side novels, too. The reason is, each passing year, the mermaid universe keeps growing in my mind, and becoming more complex... I want to share everything with you, not just the main story. So, here you go – the first collection!
New Book: “Mermaid Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia, Vol. 1”
The collection contains eight short stories, and amounts up to a total of 57,000 words, similarly to the first novel.
The stories are centered around the lives of the following characters: Tikalie Uxmal, Amelia Quintana, Edith Dvali, Saliffa Hatim, Jet Mir Thakur, Sawa and Mewa Zielinska, Nubia Khaled and Poseyda Eos.
Action of all stories spans across different years, but all events definitely take place before the first novel, as that’s when all aforementioned characters were still in their mermaid kingdoms.
Hence, if you’ve always yearned to learn the secrets of Antemidia, Hospitable Sea, Persian Gulf, Honey Earth, Southern Baltic, Lotus State and Argolic Gulf… then this story collection, is your wish fulfilled!
I’ve described cities, palaces, homes, gardens, universities and schools, shops, markets, temples… even vacation areas! You’ll be able to imagine everything with very vivid detail.
However, don’t think that the collection, is all about warming up leftovers from dinner! Not at all! Although the stories are related to “…The Lost Symphony,” I’ve introduced plenty of new things that you’re going to love.
So, what’s new in “Mermaid Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia, Vol. 1”?
Let’s start with the new characters. I’m proud to share that this collection introduces 70+ new characters: court staff, family members, distant relatives, acquaintances, enemies, frenemies, friends, love interests, etc. The M/F gender ratio is almost equal (37:36), unlike in the first novel of the series (21:43). And, I haven’t even counted deities, historical figures, and sea pets!
Additionally, the collection briefly mentions 16 new mermaid kingdoms, mostly neighbors and allies of mermaid kingdoms from “…The Lost Symphony,” but some are just naturally brought up in dialogues. I’ve also added 1 new mermaid underground.
What else… new undersea institutions, new festivities, new traditions, new board games, new mermaid books, new undersea dishes… I really did my best to pack this novel with all of your favorite things!
Publication date of “Mermaid Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia, Vol. 1”?
The English version of the collection will be published as soon as my editor finishes proofreading it. I estimate that this will be somewhere around winter 2022/2023. The Spanish version will be published much sooner, though. As for the Italian one, I don’t have it scheduled yet but you can rest assured that it’ll surely be published before spring 2023.
