If you love romance, mermaids and comedy, and you are looking for a story that will surprise you, you should try this manga by Yuana Kazumi. It tells the story of Manato Kagonei, a young part-time worker who one day meets a mermaid named Coral, who for an inexplicable reason is hurt (and with whom he quickly falls in love). But, as if meeting her wasn’t surprising enough for Manato, his wonderful mermaid soon becomes human… and a man! Are you ready for the most bizarre queer romantic comedy?

#4: THE LITTLE TRASHMAID

Tidy is a witty and friendly twelve-year-old mermaid. She’s unable to speak but was endowed with the gift of magical singing. Life gave her little to smile, though, as the seas are heavily polluted, and her father – called the “Trash King” – is trapped at the sea bottom by wires and nets. Fortunately, things begin to change for Tidy the day when she saves Ricky, a boy who accidentally falls into the sea, and soon becomes his friend. This original story is one of the funniest and most beautiful works available on Webtoons.com.

#3: KENKOU ZENRA-KEI SUIEIBU UMISHOU:

Mitsuru Hattori, a screenwriter and artist, brings to you the amazing story of Kaname Okiura: a high school student who’s the manager of his school’s swimming club… even though, he doesn’t really know how to swim. Kaname has been afraid of water for years after he had almost drowned on the beach but – like you can easily guess – was saved by what he believes was a mermaid. One day, a houseboat washes up on the sea shore next to the school. Soon, a girl named Amuro Ninagawa shows up, and stirs quite a lot of interest among school students, thanks to her swimming speed, which very soon, makes her the star of the swimming club. Kaname, however, can’t stop suspecting that she may actually be his mermaid…
