Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #1 – DIY mermaid gift bags from paper
These DIY mermaid gift bags are super easy to make. You will need a simple paper bag, preferably one without decorations, some colorful paper, a glue stick and some tulle to make ribbons. If you can use scissors and tie knots, you just can’t take it wrong!
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #2 – DIY mermaid gift bags from paper (alternative version)
Here comes another version of the mermaid gift bag. Once again, it requires using paper and ribbons. You can tie ribbons directly to the paper bag’s string. To tie the glitter paper mermaid tail, simply make a hole in it and pass a thread through it. Then, tie the thread around the paper bag’s string just like in the case of the ribbons. Voila!
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #3 – DIY mermaid candy pouches from paper
These DIY mermaid candy pouches are so easy, they don’t even require instruction. For best effect, I recommend using transparent tape instead of glue, and you can also use the tape to attach the caudal fin of the pouch. Last but not least, put candies inside in a plastic pouch, just like on the picture, to make sure that the candies are clean.
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #4 – DIY mermaid crown from paper
You can distribute ready mermaid paper crowns, or you can design one, and let kids color and cut it out on their own. I recommend using transparent tape for linking the two sides of the crown together, as the glue may not hold well.
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #5 – DIY sea style skewers for food decoration
If you need food decorations that are really easy to make, try out these sea style skewers. You can put them in the fruit salad or ice cream parfaits. All you require, is to print some sea symbols double, cut them out, and glue the two sides together, with the skewer stick in between. Easy and smart!
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #6 – DIY decorative coral reef from paper
This decoration idea won’t be simple if you aren’t crafty with the scissors, but if you are, you can make something stunning. To make the stone, simply cover some objects with paper, and crush it a bit by your hands, to make sure that it looks “rocky.” Then, attach corals and anemones made from paper. The more, the better!
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #7 – DIY paper shells with pearls inside
These are made from several layers of soft paper, that are put one into another, the way you’d do a paper rose. For best effect, use the glue stick and don’t forget to put a pearly-looking bead inside!
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #8 – DIY paper jellyfishes
This one may be a bit more challenging, since you’ll have to buy paper lanters first. If you can find them, though, then the project becomes very easy. Fold the paper multiple times so that it looks like a harmonic before you cut it, and add bead strings, too. Then, attach them to the interior part of the paper lantern with transparent tape.
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #9 – DIY paper sea weed for wall decoration
This decoration is so easy… And it makes an incredible effect, especially against cold-colored walls. It only requires cutting paper stripes of various lengths and attaching them to the wall with two pieces of transparent tape. Feel free to experiment with different colors!
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #10 – DIY paper and bubble foil fish school decoration
I’m not quite sure how these are made but it looks like all bubbles from the bubble foil were crushed, and kept under some heavy books, so that the bubble foil becomes completely flat. A piece of carton was handpainted with sillhouettes of fish drawn on it with the pencil. And after attaching the bubble foil to the paper, the fish sillhouettes were cut out. It will require a little effort but you have to admit that it looks really effective, this school of fish attached to the wall. Maybe, they’re even glued one to another… Whatever the case, it looks seriously cool. You may try it out if you aren’t scared of harder DIY projects.
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #11 – DIY mermaid popcorn container
No, we’re not here for the cupcakes! Look down at this amazing mermaid popcorn container. It’s a simple paper box, but one that got a mermaid style thanks to the color palette and the mermaid sillhouette attached to it. If cutting out a mermaid feels too hard for you, you can use shell-shaped stickers.
Mermaid Party Decoration Idea #12 – DIY mermaid tags from paper
And last but not least, a goodbye gift for your guests: a simple paper tag in the right colors, and with a ribbon. I’d personally change ribbon colors, to make these tags look more colorful.
