“Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia” is an add-on to “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony” and as such, it provides further details about the mermaid characters and the kingdoms described in it.
It is a short story collection that gives insights into the characters’ lives and how they are torn between their hearts’ desires and their duties. If you are a fan of “Mermaid Princess Amelia and the Lost Symphony,” you will love this book. One great thing about it is that you can read the books in any order, if you wish.
Each story in the collection is well-detailed and gives the reader further insight into how the characters navigate life. Imagine reading about Edith and knowing that there is more to her than just being a painter. Also, you get to know more about Saliffa, her love for mathematics, and how she has to choose between her dream career and her family’s expectations.
In the stories, we also learn more about Captain Jet Mir’s past, in particular, his teenage years and what led to his exile. We get the chance to read about him leaving his home to rebuild his identity, as well.
You are also going to get to know more about the mermaid kingdoms that weren’t described in the prequel. Exciting, right?
“Stories from the Undersea World of Mermaid Princess Amelia” are a light read, and you will have so much fun flipping through the pages of this book. You will definitely connect with your favorite characters on a deeper level, and become enchanted with others. For example, you will read about how Tikalie became a princess and what ultimately led her to faking her death (and Amelia becoming the elective princess as a result).
Don’t forget to drink a cup of coffee, tea, juice, or water while reading this short story collection because first, mermaids have to keep hydrated, and second, you are in for an emotional rollercoaster! Some pages will make you shed a tear or two, while others will make you throw your head backward while you burst into laughter. Have fun!
